Payback
‘Savage Salvation’ is a new action thriller about payback. We all love a good payback film from time to time. When the hero is wronged and goes on the very dark path of revenge it can be very satisfying. I remember watching ‘Falling Down’ with Michael Douglas and he seemed to be taking his revenge on the world itself.
There are several reasons why revenge films can be so rewarding. They often feature characters who have been wronged in some way and are seeking justice. This can be incredibly satisfying to watch, especially if the film is well-done and the characters are sympathetic.

Revenge films can be so rewarding that they often involve complex plotlines and suspenseful scenes. This can make for a very engaging and exciting experience, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats.
Revenge Genre
This genre also tends to have open endings, which allows viewers to imagine what could happen next for the characters. This can be a very satisfying experience, as it allows viewers to feel like they have some control over the story and its outcome. Yes, sometimes they are surrounded by some ridiculous plot twists, but these films are usually about the action and not necessarily the plot devices.
Retribution can be achieved through physical violence, psychological manipulation, or even just by outsmarting their enemies. Whatever the means, the goal is always to make the person who did them wrong suffer.

There are many subgenres of revenge movies, but they all share certain elements that make them compelling. The most important of these is a sense of justice. The protagonist must believe that what they are doing is right, and that their actions will ultimately lead to a fairer world. This can be a difficult thing to achieve, as it requires a delicate balance between making the villain truly despicable and making the protagonist sympathetic. This is something that ‘Savage Salvation’ got spot-on throughout most of the film.
Some of the most popular revenge films from Tarantino include “Death Proof” and “Kill Bill,” These movies are all about characters who seek revenge for different reasons, and they all feature plenty of violence and suspense. They are also all quite dark, which may be another reason that people find this genre so entertaining. I love a good revenge film, so let’s get into ‘Savage Salvation’ shall we?

Summary
‘Savage Salvation’ takes something we now know all too well, opioids, and creates a message from the get-go. Shelby John (Jack Huston) lives in a small town with his girlfriend Ruby Red (Willa Fitzgerald.) The two are undeniably in love with each other. The problem is they also love something else. They both use opioids to stay high. Shelby tells Ruby Red he never wanted her to be like him. Sparking thoughts that he was the reason his girlfriend started using.
Meanwhile, there are deaths all over town from drug use. It seems to be running rampant in this part of the world. The main attractions within the city limits are the church and drug dealers. Sheriff Church (Robert De Niro) has to keep dealing with all these deaths and has some ideas as to who is selling. He confronts the local dealer a few times, always ready to pull his gun.

As addicts of opioids do, Shelby and Ruby talked about kicking the drug habit. They both must either be high or they come down off the drug in a horrific fashion. The vicious abuse cycle is hard to break but one day they decide enough is enough.
They help themselves through the pain of recovery. Battling the symptoms of opioid withdrawals can be insanely difficult. Your body and mind go through a torture that is long-lasting and taxing. Most people go back to using it to curb the pain, not for the high.
Sheriff Church sees Shelby and Ruby on the road while driving. Ruby and Shelby look great compared to the way they seemed before. They looked pale, sick, and unwell. Now they look vibrant and happy. The sheriff notices this and this is where the story shifts.
Ruby Red’s brother-in-law is played by John Malkovich. John brings the church aspect to the forefront. Ruby wants to be baptized in the river. She wants to feel new again after what those drugs did to her. It is a wish Shelby wants to make true.
The local drug dealer keeps trying to bug John about using again. How good would a drug dealer be if he didn’t want all his/her users addicted and using? He flexes John about getting the habit going again. John feels strong now and tells him to stay away from Ruby and him.
Ruby and Shelby John made a pact to do it together. To stay off drugs and defeat the evil control that opioids had over them. This changes when Ruby gets more. Like most addicts that stop using and then begin again, she took too much. She did not have the same tolerance and it killed her cold.

Shelby John loved this woman. This was his soul mate and future wife. He already felt responsible for her drug use, now he feels responsible for her death. This turns Shelby John on a rampage through the line of dealers responsible for her death.
He starts with the drug dealer he knows and makes his way up the list, finding all the people responsible for putting the drugs on the street. The sheriff knows something is up and more about Shelby than we do. Eventually, they meet for some of the most climactic parts of the film.
A Revenge Film for Our Era
‘Savage Salvation’ is a revenge film for our era. They use our current opioid crisis, something I am passionate about solving, and tell a tale of redemption through revenge. Shelby John ends up finding his own version of redemption at the end of the film.
You can rent ‘Savage Salvation’ now on any streaming platforms that carry streaming rentals. It is fun to see the filmmakers design their own path through a film of this genre. The action is exciting, and the film is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.

An excerpt from the love letter: The Hollywood Insider’s CEO/editor-in-chief Pritan Ambroase affirms, “We have the space and time for all your stories, no matter who/what/where you are. Media/Cinema/TV have a responsibility to better the world and The Hollywood Insider will continue to do so. Talent, diversity and authenticity matter in Cinema/TV, media and storytelling. In fact, I reckon that we should announce “talent-diversity-authenticity-storytelling-Cinema-Oscars-Academy-Awards” as synonyms of each other. We show respect to talent and stories regardless of their skin color, race, gender, sexuality, religion, nationality, etc., thus allowing authenticity into this system just by something as simple as accepting and showing respect to the human species’ factual diversity. We become greater just by respecting and appreciating talent in all its shapes, sizes, and forms. Award winners, which includes nominees, must be chosen on the greatness of their talent ALONE.
I am sure I am speaking for a multitude of Cinema lovers all over the world when I speak of the following sentiments that this medium of art has blessed me with. Cinema taught me about our world, at times in English and at times through the beautiful one-inch bar of subtitles. I learned from the stories in the global movies that we are all alike across all borders. Remember that one of the best symbols of many great civilizations and their prosperity has been the art they have left behind. This art can be in the form of paintings, sculptures, architecture, writings, inventions, etc. For our modern society, Cinema happens to be one of them. Cinema is more than just a form of entertainment, it is an integral part of society. I love the world uniting, be it for Cinema, TV, media, art, fashion, sport, etc. Please keep this going full speed.”
