That same year he would play a minor character in the film ‘Dead Man on Campus.’ In 2002 Jason was cast in a role in ‘Slackers,’ and in 2003 he played Leon in ‘11:14.’ Later, Jason would work on ‘Knocked Up’ with a cast including Seth Rogan, Katherine Heigl, Paul Rudd, and Leslie Mann. Finally scoring his first main role, Jason was cast as Peter Bretter in ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall,’ which quickly rose in popularity after its release. Jason voiced the infamous antihero Vector in ‘Despicable Me,’ which was his first voiceover role in a film. He also was cast as Horatio in ‘Gulliver’s Travels’ and Jeff in ‘Jeff Who Lives at Home,’ which was released in 2011. Also released in 2011 was ‘The Muppets,’ in which Jason was cast as Gary. Jason’s next big film, ‘Sex Tape’ came out in 2014 in which he co-starred with Cameron Diaz. To add to his impressive list of acting credits are ‘The End of the Tour,’ a biography of David Foster Wallace, whom Jason portrays. Jason’s Screenwriting Career
Although Jason has been acting since 1998, his first experience in the screenwriting industry was his work on the film ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall.’ Despite the fact that it was his first movie to be produced, it was a decidedly huge hit across the nation. Encouraged by the enthusiasm from audiences everywhere, Jason kept up writing for the screen. He created the characters for the 2010 movie ‘Get Him to the Greek’ and wrote ‘The Muppets’ (2011) in which he also was cast as a crucial character. Next, Jason wrote ‘The Five-Year Engagement’ as well as ‘Sex Tape.’ Often, Jason will receive a role in the movies he helps write, considering the fact that his knowledge of the story and characters is so vast and imaginative. Most recently, Jason wrote the story behind ‘Windfall,’ which was released in 2022. In this film a man breaks into a mansion owned by a millionaire and begins to enjoy the luxuries of the vacant home; that is until the owners return.
Jason also has tested the waters of television writing, springing off of his film writing success. In 2020 Jason wrote ‘Dispatches from Elsewhere,’ and, as was mentioned before, he also acted in it as well. Spanning across ten episodes, ‘Dispatches from Elsewhere’ feature four vibrantly different individuals who must band together to solve a strange and possibly dangerous puzzle. Is it a hoax? Or is it a matter of life or death? Jason proves his eye for a great story and emotional tension through his brilliant writing – and acting – in this TV series. Jason also wrote ‘Shrinking,’ his creativity shown through the plot and themes seen throughout the series. With an eye for detail and a genuine sense of humor, Jason’s influence on ‘Shrinking’ raises it to the next level, giving it a chance to rise to the top of the charts after its release on Friday. Although this concludes the current list of Jason’s writing credits, it can be expected that there will be many more to come due to the popularity of his previous projects. It’s evident that Jason recognizes the qualities of a good story and authentic characters, drawing audiences to theaters and screens around the world.

An excerpt from the love letter: The Hollywood Insider’s CEO/editor-in-chief Pritan Ambroase affirms, “We have the space and time for all your stories, no matter who/what/where you are. Media/Cinema/TV have a responsibility to better the world and The Hollywood Insider will continue to do so. Talent, diversity and authenticity matter in Cinema/TV, media and storytelling. In fact, I reckon that we should announce “talent-diversity-authenticity-storytelling-Cinema-Oscars-Academy-Awards” as synonyms of each other. We show respect to talent and stories regardless of their skin color, race, gender, sexuality, religion, nationality, etc., thus allowing authenticity into this system just by something as simple as accepting and showing respect to the human species’ factual diversity. We become greater just by respecting and appreciating talent in all its shapes, sizes, and forms. Award winners, which includes nominees, must be chosen on the greatness of their talent ALONE.
I am sure I am speaking for a multitude of Cinema lovers all over the world when I speak of the following sentiments that this medium of art has blessed me with. Cinema taught me about our world, at times in English and at times through the beautiful one-inch bar of subtitles. I learned from the stories in the global movies that we are all alike across all borders. Remember that one of the best symbols of many great civilizations and their prosperity has been the art they have left behind. This art can be in the form of paintings, sculptures, architecture, writings, inventions, etc. For our modern society, Cinema happens to be one of them. Cinema is more than just a form of entertainment, it is an integral part of society. I love the world uniting, be it for Cinema, TV, media, art, fashion, sport, etc. Please keep this going full speed.”
