For Oscars 2019, no female directors were nominated for the “Best Director” category, even though multiple amazing movies were directed by female directors. Has the #timesup movement expired? When will the industry and Academy get to a point where talent is awarded based on merit and not dismissed based on their gender or sex? A scarcity of female directors is not the problem, as we saw in the numerous excellent noteworthy directors in this video.
