Designed by the visionary architect Emery Roth, Hotel Belleclaire is a striking example of the Beaux-Arts and Art Nouveau styles. Its distinctive façade, adorned with decorative turrets, elegant bay windows, and sculpted stone motifs, sets it apart from New York’s typical skyscrapers. Roth’s visionary design made Belleclaire a trendsetter, combining European aesthetics with the emerging American skyscraper form.

A Star-Studded History
Hotel Belleclaire has long been a destination for celebrated guests and cultural icons. Mark Twain, one of America’s greatest literary voices, famously stayed here, and today a luxurious suite commemorates his legacy. Equally iconic is the Babe Ruth Suite, dedicated to the legendary Yankee slugger who frequently resided at the hotel during his prime. Baseball fans delight in this spacious accommodation, filled with memorabilia honoring the Sultan of Swat.
The hotel’s lounges and barrooms were frequent haunts of prominent actors and high society figures of the early 20th century, including stage and screen royalty such as John and Lionel Barrymore, and even the renowned tea magnate Sir Thomas Lipton. These illustrious guests added a touch of glamour and intrigue, turning Belleclaire into more than a hotel—rather, a living chronicle of New York’s cultural history.
Timeless Luxury and Modern Amenities
Today, Hotel Belleclaire offers its guests a thoughtfully curated luxury experience, blending historical charm with contemporary comforts. A recent meticulous renovation in 2023 has rejuvenated its storied spaces, ensuring that modern luxury travelers feel pampered at every turn.
Each room and suite boasts plush bedding, luxurious Frette robes, and state-of-the-art technology. Guests can indulge in modern amenities like high-speed Wi-Fi, flat-screen televisions, and a 24-hour fitness center. Yet, even amidst modernity, visitors can savor the nostalgic touches: cozy fireplaces in select suites and period-appropriate furnishings that recall Belleclaire’s glamorous past.
Culinary Delights and Chic Social Scenes
Belleclaire has always prioritized refined taste—quite literally. The hotel’s in-house Mille-Feuille bakery café brings Parisian culinary excellence to the Upper West Side, where guests can savor buttery croissants and artisan espresso each morning. Meanwhile, the elegant lobby area seamlessly blends antique charm with modern art, creating a chic yet cozy atmosphere perfect for meeting friends or relaxing solo.
In the evenings, guests gravitate toward Allure, the hotel’s sophisticated bar and lounge. Here, handcrafted cocktails and live jazz create an ambiance reminiscent of New York’s golden age. Whether sipping a classic martini or mingling with fellow travelers, guests experience a taste of glamour that bridges past and present.
Prime Location and Exclusive Experiences
Belleclaire’s prestigious Upper West Side location enhances its allure, nestled amidst some of Manhattan’s most esteemed cultural landmarks. Steps from Central Park, Lincoln Center, the American Museum of Natural History, and legendary gourmet destinations like Zabar’s deli, the hotel perfectly positions guests to immerse themselves in New York’s finest cultural and culinary offerings. For those eager to explore further, Belleclaire provides custom neighborhood walking tours, unveiling hidden gems of the Upper West Side, from historic brownstones to iconic landmarks.
Additionally, Belleclaire guests receive exclusive perks like personalized shopping experiences at Bloomingdale’s, a hallmark of luxury living in NYC. After indulging in retail therapy, visitors return to the peaceful haven of the hotel, removed from the city’s hustle yet close enough to remain immersed in its vibrant energy.

An excerpt from the love letter: The Hollywood Insider’s CEO/editor-in-chief Pritan Ambroase affirms, “We have the space and time for all your stories, no matter who/what/where you are. Media/Cinema/TV have a responsibility to better the world and The Hollywood Insider will continue to do so. Talent, diversity and authenticity matter in Cinema/TV, media and storytelling. In fact, I reckon that we should announce “talent-diversity-authenticity-storytelling-Cinema-Oscars-Academy-Awards” as synonyms of each other. We show respect to talent and stories regardless of their skin color, race, gender, sexuality, religion, nationality, etc., thus allowing authenticity into this system just by something as simple as accepting and showing respect to the human species’ factual diversity. We become greater just by respecting and appreciating talent in all its shapes, sizes, and forms. Award winners, which includes nominees, must be chosen on the greatness of their talent ALONE.
I am sure I am speaking for a multitude of Cinema lovers all over the world when I speak of the following sentiments that this medium of art has blessed me with. Cinema taught me about our world, at times in English and at times through the beautiful one-inch bar of subtitles. I learned from the stories in the global movies that we are all alike across all borders. Remember that one of the best symbols of many great civilizations and their prosperity has been the art they have left behind. This art can be in the form of paintings, sculptures, architecture, writings, inventions, etc. For our modern society, Cinema happens to be one of them. Cinema is more than just a form of entertainment, it is an integral part of society. I love the world uniting, be it for Cinema, TV, media, art, fashion, sport, etc. Please keep this going full speed.”
