Whether viewers hate them or love them, the twisted tourists of the White Lotus gathered the hearts and/or interests of fans to keep up for the past seven weeks. With its all-star cast, ‘The White Lotus’ can expect to see the show, the actors, and the production team up for many awards as it did last season. With how fresh this satirical dark comedy created by Mike White is, it deserves all of the accolades. Mike White solidifies his name as one of the best showrunners today. Luckily, fans can have high expectations for season three, as Mike White (did not confirm but) spoke very openly about his plot possibilities for the future.
The Dysfunctional Quartet – ‘The White Lotus’
Plenty unfolds yet doesn’t for the married quartet played by Aubrey Plaza, Theo James, Will Sharpe, and Meghann Fahy. With the tension from the possibility of infidelity, the scenes between these four are some of the most intriguing to watch. It is just a matter of time before Ethan (Will Sharpe) explodes, demanding answers from his wife, Harper (Aubrey Plaza), but when he is going to do it, is the big question. Viewers have been waiting for the moment that Ethan will snap on his aggressively alpha-presenting ex-roommate Cameron (Theo James), as Cameron has been making passes at Harper throughout the series. From exposing his naked body to caressing Harper’s leg at the dinner table, when will enough be enough for Ethan to break his passiveness is one of the most enticing traits in this plotline.

Meghann Fahy, who plays Daphne (Cameron’s wife), gave her best performance of the season yet. Finally, viewers get to see through Daphne’s facade, which is the wife that is okay with everything. At the revelation of something unpleasant, Daphne finally snaps out of that mask for a bit, showing the mistreatment she claims to endure and how she distracts herself. Nonetheless, it was a short scene for Fahy, but so much was said with little dialogue. That scene alone puts Fahy as a high contender for the 2023 Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Limited of Anthology Series against Jennifer Coolidge, who won the 2022 Emmy for the same award.
Jennifer Coolidge Shows Why She Won the 2022 Emmy and Might Take it for 2023
Tanya McQuoid, played by Jennifer Coolidge, quickly became the heart and soul of the series. Being the only character to return after season one (other than her husband, Greg, played by Jon Gries), it was a big question as to why she is the only character to have returned. Not to complain, as Jennifer Coolidge does a lot for the show’s tone and serves as a reminder that the show is a satirical dark comedy. Emphasizing the dark park of the dark comedy aspect, as viewers get to see Tanya in the darkest situation the series has shown. With the help of her unhelpful assistant Portia (played by Haley Lu Richardson), how Tanya and Portia will get out of their mess becomes the tensest plotline in the series. On the bright side, this situation that the airheaded heiress has gotten herself into has brought out the best performance from Coolidge that she has given in the series. If Coolidge took the win at the 2022 Emmy, it seems highly likely she will take the 2023 Emmy, or at least be one of the strongest candidates.

The Generational Trio, The Italian Duo, & Their Love Stories
The Di Grasso family, played by F. Murray Abraham, Michael Imperioli, and Adam DiMarco, gave one of the more relaxing plotlines of the finale. Not much has risen from these stories except for their bedroom steaminess. Adam DiMarco’s character, Albie, pertains to his good-guy role to the bitter end. Interestingly, fans get to see Lucia, played by Simona Tabasco, drop some of her business-only act and show some genuine affection for the sweetheart, Albie. It is a bittersweet ending for this couple, but most would agree that it isn’t something that nobody saw coming. Gladly, the Di Grasso family finds some affection in each other too, even if it is too bittersweet.
As for the other locals of Sicily, Mia (played by Beatrice Grannò) and Valentina (played by Sabrina Impacciatore) bring the unlikely duo that the viewers may not have expected. Grannò and Impacciatore have lots of chemistry, so their scenes together always bring up the energy in the show in a positive manner. Finally being able to see Valentina let loose is a sight for fans and the characters on the show. Once Valentina was able to get something good in her life, it is nice how more good unfolds because of her. Luckily, Mia was there to give Valentina that weight off her shoulders to be the joyous resort manager the tourists always hope to have.

An excerpt from the love letter: The Hollywood Insider’s CEO/editor-in-chief Pritan Ambroase affirms, “We have the space and time for all your stories, no matter who/what/where you are. Media/Cinema/TV have a responsibility to better the world and The Hollywood Insider will continue to do so. Talent, diversity and authenticity matter in Cinema/TV, media and storytelling. In fact, I reckon that we should announce “talent-diversity-authenticity-storytelling-Cinema-Oscars-Academy-Awards” as synonyms of each other. We show respect to talent and stories regardless of their skin color, race, gender, sexuality, religion, nationality, etc., thus allowing authenticity into this system just by something as simple as accepting and showing respect to the human species’ factual diversity. We become greater just by respecting and appreciating talent in all its shapes, sizes, and forms. Award winners, which includes nominees, must be chosen on the greatness of their talent ALONE.
I am sure I am speaking for a multitude of Cinema lovers all over the world when I speak of the following sentiments that this medium of art has blessed me with. Cinema taught me about our world, at times in English and at times through the beautiful one-inch bar of subtitles. I learned from the stories in the global movies that we are all alike across all borders. Remember that one of the best symbols of many great civilizations and their prosperity has been the art they have left behind. This art can be in the form of paintings, sculptures, architecture, writings, inventions, etc. For our modern society, Cinema happens to be one of them. Cinema is more than just a form of entertainment, it is an integral part of society. I love the world uniting, be it for Cinema, TV, media, art, fashion, sport, etc. Please keep this going full speed.”
